Hey Guys,
A fashionable friend recently clued me into a *great* online store called Stars and Infinite Darkness (www.starsandinfinitedarkness.com). The cyberboutique carries clothing, accessories, and outerwear created exclusively by new and emerging designers. I was a little off put by the name, but I still took a look...and I found oodles of cutting edge, unique, yet afforable pieces!
Each clothing category had at least one item I would charge to the game in a New York minute. For example.
I fell in love with this $82 jacket by Kween:
...for its 'traditional with a twist' allure. The off-center button in front along with the fishtail in back are super chic yet unexpected.
I also found myself salivating over these Twiggy and Gold Python wallets by designer SHILVY...
...which were fashionable yet affordable at $70 and $80 respectively.
And though we're a ways away from 'jump in the pool' type temperatures, I'd snatch up this $92 swimsuit by Harajuku ...
...right now.
While I found at least one 'must have' in each category, I discovered the most standouts in the dresses and handbags sections. Let's take a look.
My dress picks:
Clockwise from left: Avalove Peacock Tunic, $50; Prospect 44 Victorian Mini Lace Dress, $150; Fjord Viking Invasion Red Dress, $115; Lexi Stardust Jenny Greenteeth Dress, $68; Prospect 44 Black Satin Bubble Dress, $150; Wai Ching Soleil Dress, $200; Sally Bee Big Feather Tunic, $52; Kahri Boombox Hoody Minidress, $84. Center: Mertle & George: Black Chiffon Umbre Shirred Layered Dress,$145.
Handbags:
Clockwise from left: Nam Kim Fly-by-Night Bag, $235; Hazelnut Big Shopper in Snow White, $85; Hell's Belles Blood Red Crocodile Clutch, $60; 1 Aeon S. Girl Tote Bag, $22; Snorestud tree cut out purse, $165; Crystalyn Kae Metier Square Shopper, $135; Hell's Belles White and Green Rolled Clutch, $54; Rapp and Posavek Greta, $125. Center: Magnes Sisters Nude & Sand 'Dry Martini' Leather Clutch, $204.
Cute.

Fashion WhatNots:
So I *finally* received my monthly Elle fix the other day.
And after getting over my shock that Rachel McAdams is sporting Beyonce's Oscar Dress on the cover...
And Kirsten Dunst's Chanel Oscar disaster in her spread...
I flipped on to find a gorgeous article about Jada Pinkett Smith, written by Sarah Bernard...
And shot by Giles Bensimon.
She looks amazing! The article discusses Jada's fashion philosophy, and prominently features my buddy Phillip Bloch...who also happens to be her stylist. Also check out Elle's April issue (the theme is ambition) for features on dozens of intelligent, pioneering, go-getting women.
