Hey!
Hope you had a wondeful long weekend! So, so sad it's over....
So as you may or may not know, New York Fashion Week kicks off today...
...and all the fashion glitteratti--from editors, to retailers, to designers--will descend upon Bryant Park to see the Spring 2008 collections of designers like Nicole Miller, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Tracy Reese. It's a very exciting time!
I've gotten invites to a few hot shows...but the issue is: What to Wear?
In a room full of fabulous people, it's hard to figure out what to rock so that you look like you fit in, yet have a bit of style. Who better to look to than celebs for a 'Fashion Week' look? Check it:
Tracee Ellis Ross...
...looks like a consummate magazine editor in a high waisted skirt, printed silk blouse, sky high yet somewhat conservative peep toes, and bangles. An editor would probably wear a large tote to carry a notebook, pens, etc, instead of a clutch, but the look is there.
If you're more of a designer type, you can keep it super casual like Eva in a t and jeans....
...but don't forget cute bold accessories and a fly hair do to add a bit of flair.
Solid dresses in eye catching colors are a safe bet...
And if all else fails...
...a dress in black or a dark color will help you fit in seamessly.
Oh, almost forgot! If you're sitting front row...
...don't forget your shades!
Get your Fashion Week wardrobe rolling with the following basics:
Top Row: Lace Belted Shift Dress, $149, http://www.lizclaiborne.com/; Satin Polka Dot Blouse, $19.80, http://www.forever21.com/.
Bottom Row: Large Square Sunglasses, $58, http://www.armaniexchange.com/; Classiques Entier® High Waist Skirt, $128, http://www.nordstrom.com/.
I'll be in the tents this time around, reporting on the best of the best for ya, and snapping lots of Real Style. Stay tuned!
Smootches!
PS I know you're coming to my Anniversary party this Saturday!
You better get on it!
