The article says, “The subscriber base will be folded into fellow Hearst title Seventeen.” Are magazines done for? Unofficial poll: how many of you still subscribe to magazines? If so, which ones?I honestly had to cancel my subscription to Vogue..too heavy, too much stuff, too out of touch (with their 'Is Fashion Racist' nonsense)...what do you still subscribe to?
I LOVE magazines! I currently subscribe to Lucky, InStyle, Domino, and Glamour. I will not renew my Lucky and Domino subscriptions but will replace them with Eboni/Essence, Black Enterprise, and Shape.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to InStyle and Lucky because they always offer great high/low options. I agree, Vogue is too out of touch and lacks real substance so I stopped getting it years ago. I also subscribe to Domino and Elle Decor for inspiration purposes.
ReplyDeleteI currently subscribe to ESSENCE, Ebony, Black Enterprise, Jet, Glamour, Allure, Self, Fitness, and I have online subscriptions to Saveur and Caribbean Travel and Life, and I buy many, as well.
ReplyDeleteI have a subscription to Harper's Bazaar, because it was free. I did renew on Amazon a few weeks ago because it was about $5 for the year. I constantly buy People Style Watch at the store. The prices are much better than Bazaar, more for the regular woman. In my teen days, I subscribed to Teen People when they actually had articles in them.
ReplyDeleteI just paid for a subscription to Inc and Fast Company last night. I'm a heavy magazine subscriber but I do Harper's Bazaar rather than Vogue. I always wanted a Vogue subscription, but the magazine doesn't really prove any good reading. And the fashion that it represents gets more unrealistic as the day goes by. I guess it'll be the Bazaar for me. :D

I'm addicted to fashion. I subscribe to Lucky, Elle and Elle Decor. I will subscribe to People Style Watch this week. Glad to hear other people like the magazine as well. During the fall, I end up buying all of the fashion mags to make sure I don't miss anything. I admit, Vogue is a big disappointment.

I subscribe to Lucky, Glamour and Self. I've just recently gotten rid of my subscriptions to Vibe and Essence, I didn't feel they spoke to me anymore. I wish Vibe Vixen was still in print, I loved that magazine.

While my sister subscribes to Pinc, Essence, Lucky, Marie Claire, Black Enterprise, WWD, and Elle. I love fashion and my sister is in the Beauty industry.

ReplyDeleteI get Lucky, Glamour, Marie Claire, Essence,InStyle and Inc. I've never really "GOT" vogue, just a bunch of ads and unrealistic fashion in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little sad about CosmoGIRL. I remember buying the 1st issue and going to several of their parties when younger and I know this is Atoosa's baby!!!! Well guess there will be another magazine to take its place soon. However, I LOVE Lucky Mag !!!!
