Hey, guys--Adriana here with another report from the New York fashion scene. Y'all know I'm a freestyle fanatic, so I was hyped to check out Reebok's Spring '09 collection preview last week. Look what they did just for me!
OK, mayyybe not. But a girl can wish...Here are some of the highlights from the line!

The top two Freestyles are called "Fashionista" and "Punk" (I kept envisioning Rihanna in the Punks). My faves are the pop art-like gray ones and those burgundy satin ballet flats, which look even more adorable in person. Thoughts?
P.S. For all of us Reebok Basquiat edition fans, I got the scoop that there are definitely some more styles in the pipeline--stay tuned!
Look for the Reebok Spring '09 collection in stores early next year!
Adri
Special thanks to Carmen and Olivia. :-)

NYScene: Frye Spring 2009 Preview
Adriana here!
Last night, Frye held their Spring 2009 Preview at a private showing on Fifth Avenue. I couldn't wait to see what they had on tap, as I've noticed that the company's been edging their way more and more into the contemporary arena. And they're delivering really well.
The flat sandals are actually hand-woven and specially made in Spain while the platforms are indeed genuine snakeskin, as confirmed by Frye rep Brittany Penebre, who was on hand to offer fantastic insight into each piece:
There were also some Frye classics in the line:
And some spring offerings for men:

The theme was sophisticated rustic, and all about classic American music--we aren't the only ones who've been thinking about album covers. They had an entire wall covered in them!
Check out Frye's current fall offerings on their site and look out for the spring line when it debuts in stores in March 2009!

Paris Fashion Week: Les Shoes
Coco Chanel famously remarked that fashion begins from the bottom up. While the bottom she referred to was the streets, for this post we're going to reinterpret it to mean the shoes (I think CC would understand and even encourage it), oui?
Instead of our usual, clothes-focused show review (and because I've got a *serious* shoe itch this week), we're going to do something a little different and round-up of some of the fabulous shoes featured in last week's Spring 2009 Paris shows. The Fashion Bomb gives you:
Chanel: playful and feminine, with touches of maribou, lace, sheer. A very 1940s feel, no?
Louis Vuitton: tribal and eye-catching. Shoes like these MUST be the focal point of your outfit in order to pull them off.
Givenchy: I can't take my eyes off the green metallic pump. Just fierce.
Christian Dior: What do you think of the fertility doll heels that caught everyone's eye? Hmmm... Viktor & Rolf: One of my favorite designers, they didn't disappoint with distinctive, funky shoes.
Giambattista Valli: modern and sexy. The platform soles remind me of my beloved Marni from two seasons ago.
Christian Lacroix: full of bows and charms, like wearing treats on your feet.
Yves Saint Laurent: a bit high-concept. The ankle-strap ones are growing on me the more I look at them, though. Dries Van Noten: another of my faves, these shoes deviate a bit from his normal minimalist style and have a bit of a tribal feel, too.
Favorites? Disappointments? Weigh in!

Spring Trend: Turquoise
Hey!
So the color turquoise has been popping up as of late on many the red carpet whether blessing full on frocks or popping with accessories. The cool color is perfect for warm weather, reflecting the clear sky and flattering most skin tones.
Let's take a look at how some of our favorites rock it:
Selita Ebanks looks stunning yet simple in a cool blue thigh length cocktail...
Serena has a similar look, yet jazzes up her ensemble with an embellished neckline and matching shoes...
Beauty Cassie shimmers in an ice blue frock and adds a belt for emphasis...
Angela Simmons, not a fan of full on blue, just adds a pop with a pair of patent turquoise pumps...
...And Ms. Fox follows suit with simple jewelry...
...worn with a neutral outfit.

Smootches!

Fashionista reports, "W Magazine needs full time and part time interns for Fall '08. You should be prepared to work 2-5 days a week, for 8 - 12 hours a day. You will be working in the W fashion closet, calling in clothes, helping to pack for fashion shoots, and occasionally assisting on sets. You will be really bored and really stressed unless the only thing you have ever wanted to do is work at a fashion magazine."
So many of you write in asking me how to break into fashion...this is how!
If interested, e-mail garrett_munce@condenast.com with a short explanation of why you'd be perfect for the job (oh and your Fall '08 schedule). Do it!!

20 Summer Dresses under $100
So last week, New York Times fashion writer Guy Trebay intimated that the dress might be over...
... he quoted Anne Slowey of Elle Magazine who proclaimed, "The eye is looking for something new, and so is the psyche...The dress has been done to death..."
Hmmm, fashion magazines might be a wee bit out of touch because I personally love to throw on a dress virtually any time of year! They're easy, one stop outfits, supremely flirty, colorful, and feminine: basically perfect wardrobe staples and ideal go-to's for spring/summer.
The fashion powers that be may want you to spend money on the 'new' silhouette (pants? ugh!), but here at The Fashion Bomb, we're all about feeding your current obsessions while saving money!
So, just for you frock lovers: 20 summer dresses for $100 or less.
First, one of my favorite silhouettes: strapless dresses...
For busty girls, they offer the option to show some skin, while still wearing supportive undergarments (if you don't know, check out my past post on one of my obsessions, Fantasie's Smoothing Strapless Bra). Throw on a cardigan for the office, then take it off for post work drinks:Dresses with dainty straps always look cute:
...and are perfect for a picnic or day at the beach:Bottom Row: Single Dress Francesca Spaghetti Stap Dress, $68, www.macys.com; After the Storm Dress, $55, www.modcloth.com; Ameerah Baby Doll Dress, $27.80, www.forever21.com.
Shirtdresses are simple choices for a summer job (interns, listen up!)
...they look crisp, polished, and sophisticated:
