In even more Rihanna news, seems the material girl is launching her own clothing line...
She told WWD in Milan, "I’m not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time...I can’t say when it will be released, but it’s definitely going to happen." Hmh. There's a big line between knowing how to wear designer clothes well and making your own. I'll have to see how I feel about this one. Would you wear Rihanna's label? [WWD]

OF COURSE I WOULD. RIHANNA IS THE MOST TRENSETTING "IT" GIRL IN FASHION RITE NOW, SO IT WOULD ONLY BE RITE 4 HER TO CAPITALIZE ON HER GREAT STYLE AND 4 US (THE AUDIENCE) TO GET A TASTE OF HER ROCK GLAMOUR!
I would rock it too - pun intended. She has good fashion sense and is willing to take risks.
No, her stylist has great fashion sense. I think a lot of celebrities try to venture into the fashion game without realizing the money and time it takes to make a great product. In the end something like Eve's Fetish, Jennifer Lopez's JLO or House of Dereon comes out. Even though they may have fashion sense individually, it's hard and very expensive to translate that onto the masses. Sadly, in the end the lines end of looking cheap most of times, save for Gwen Stefani who has great shoes and designers behind her label.
No thank you.
@Anonymous: Rihanna is not the one that picks out the clothes she wears. Rihanna is not even the one that conceived the dark gothic punk look she has now.
@ everyone else: No thank you. I am sick and tired of actors and singers trying to cash in on everyone else's gig. These professions are based HUGELY on talent, and it is irritating to me when actor/singers with no design talent whatsoever just pay someone to turn out some overpriced trash line. case in point. Beyonce Knowles.
And I'm not buying all that crap they say about always cutting up their clothes and shit since they were a little girl. JLo started that nonsense, and ever since then everyone's been parroting it as if it's some excuse in a box.
"Oh, I've been cutting up my clothes since I was a child, therefore you should buy my idiotically overpriced, tasteless crap with my name plastered all over it."
Of course, people are always finding out that celebrities are ever presenting lies to the public. Wasn't it nice when we discovered that sweet little Britney Spears only gave $500 to her charity over the course of a year?
Leave Fashion Design to those whom God has blessed with the TALENT. Let singers sing, and actors act, and MODELS cover the front of fashion magazines, and for God's sake, let the BLOODY FASHION DESIGNERS DO WHAT THEY DO!!!
Thank you Southerngirl and sugabelly...I am so sick of celebs geting credit for their fashion savy, trend setting, etc bullsh**. THEY ALL HAVE STYLISTS!!! Even Martha Stewart has a Stylist!(seriously...someone ctually dresses her...i saw it on Oprah.) I am also so siiiick of every damn celebrity thinking that because they can pull off a designer outfit, that they can then create one! None of them get any respect from me. And for the ones that do have decent pieces...are they really designing them?? Or are they just plastering their names on lables and back pockets! Most of these lines are just tacky and an attemt by these celebs to brand themselves and to make more money off of their poor unsuspecting fans...!
Absolutely NOT. Like the other people said, Rihanna does not choose her wardrobe, her stylist does. I believe her line would probably be created by somebody else too (since she's been borrowing her style from other people) and it would end up being cheap and overpriced just like all the other celeb clothing lines. I vote NO.
OK KOOL
BUT PLz SUPPORT THE BIG GiRLz
PLz InCLUDE SIZE 14-20 CUz US BiG GiRLS WANNA LOOK FLYY TOO
I agree with Southerngirl. Considering her stylist is the one who created and maintains her style/look, it would only be worth it's salt if she (I think her name is Lise) handles the design part and uses Rihanna as the muse and name. It amuses me how Rihanna takes credit (or just accepts it) for a look originally popularized by singers like Kelis and Fefe Dobson (former DefJam artist), even though I do adore Riri. I'm older than she is but around the same age as her stylist so the 80's influence is likely a result of her stylist's 5th grade wardrobe. I wore rubber bracelets, studded belts, jeans with ankle zippers and neon nail polish when I was 9-10 and I wasn't being "edgy." I was just copying Friday Night Videos. I didn't come out with a fashion line in the 7th grade because of my edgy fashion risks though. Maybe I should've. LOL
