So fashion week...
...has gotten off to an amazing start! Baby Phat on Friday was so much fun--what a way to kick everything off !
Saturday, I decided to visit the Black Style Now exhibit that I wrote about in an earlier post...
Had to get my learn on while snapping a few pix of our black history month designer superstars!
On Sunday, I had the distinct honor of going to the Tents to see young black designer Tracy Reese's collection firsthand...
It was absolutely gorgeous.
A few personal pix:
Most fall collections so far have been dominated by sedate colors like black, gray, and tan. Reese departed from her colleagues by using a fun color pallette that included navy, magenta, and salmon. Her flirty bow and ruffle details on everything from tops to jackets added a feminine touch, and details like mandarin collars and buttons branded her collection as exclusively Tracy Reese.
I put on my director's hat for the final walk...
A vast improvement, no? At least I'm not singing!
Anyway that's not all!
I hung around afterwards, and sashayed on backstage!
I took a snapshot of Tracy Reese interviewing:
Ran into Veronica Webb (gorgeous!)
And Tim Gunn!!!
He was so nice and totally remembered me from our interview not too long ago.
I still have a few more invites...to Y & Kei, Carolina Herrara (thanks Kelli), Tommy Hilfiger, Malcolm Harris for Mal Sirrah and a few other designers. I'll post about those towards the end of the week, along with my super professional videos:)
Stay tuned tomorrow for part one of Real Style, Tent Edition. Serious cuteness comin' atcha.
PSSS Wassup to all my Fashion Bomb readers who came to say 'hey' in the tents. You're the Bomb! Keep reading, and tell yo friends!
